Location: Swindon | Salary: £32,000–£35,000 + Sleep-in Payments (up to £38,276 total)

We’re recruiting a Deputy Manager for a 5-bed home in Swindon that supports children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities (LD). With a stable, experienced staff team and strong leadership in place, this is a fantastic opportunity to focus on quality care and meaningful leadership.
About the Role:
You’ll be working closely with the Registered Manager to ensure smooth daily operations and outstanding care for up to 5 children — currently 3 in placement. Your responsibilities will include:

Leading and supporting a confident, high-performing staff team

Promoting therapeutic, person-centred care in line with Ofsted standards

Overseeing shift planning, staff development, and care planning

Supporting safeguarding, compliance, and day-to-day home management

While occasional sleep-ins may be required, they are not guaranteed due to strong staffing levels

About You:
We’re looking for a confident and proactive leader who thrives in a collaborative environment:

Residential childcare experience with EBD and/or LD is essential

Previous leadership experience in a Deputy or Senior role preferred

Level 3 Diploma (Residential Childcare) required; open to or working towards Level 5
-
A calm, organised approach with a real commitment to improving children’s lives

Confident with safeguarding and Ofsted standards
