Working alongside an experienced Registered Manager, you'll help lead a dedicated team supporting one young person, creating the stability, structure and trusting relationships that enable them to feel safe, valued and able to thrive. About the Role:
As Deputy Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day leadership of the home, supporting the Registered Manager to deliver exceptional care while maintaining a calm, safe and therapeutic environment.
Working within a solo placement allows you to focus on building consistent relationships, supporting positive outcomes and leading a team that provides highly individualised care.
Responsibilities include:
• Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day leadership of the home
• Leading shifts and managing the home in the Registered Manager's absence, including participation in the on-call rota
• Supporting, coaching and developing the residential team through supervision and positive leadership
• Working alongside children, families and professionals to develop and review individual Care Plans
• Promoting positive routines, emotional wellbeing, education and independence
• Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, care planning and regulatory compliance
• Assisting with recruitment, induction, training and staff development
• Contributing to quality assurance, reporting and continuous improvement across the home

About You:
We're looking for an experienced residential childcare professional who's ready to continue developing their leadership career.
You'll have:
• Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Residential Childcare
• At least two years' experience within children's residential care
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience within a residential setting
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, children's home regulations and quality standards
• Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK
You'll also bring:
• Calm, reflective and emotionally resilient leadership
• The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children and colleagues
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A therapeutic, child-focused approach that places the young person's needs at the centre of every decision
