Registered Manager – Assessment & Transition Home (Strong Oversight Role)
Salary: £55,000–£60,000 DOE
Location & Context:
A specialist children’s home designed to support young people for shorter periods of assessment and stabilisation, before they move on to longer-term homes that best meet their needs.
The service plays a crucial role within a wider residential pathway, offering clarity, structure and informed planning at a key point in a young person’s journey.
Introduction:
This Registered Manager role is about oversight, judgement and consistency. The home is not long-term, and the focus is not on crisis-led care, but on providing a safe, well-run environment where young people can be understood, supported and carefully assessed.
You’ll work within a clear framework, supported by senior leadership and established systems, enabling you to lead with confidence and keep the service calm, purposeful and well organised.
About the Role:
• Providing overall oversight of an assessment-led residential service
• Managing planned and emergency admissions for short-term placements
• Leading effective assessment, observation and transition planning
• Ensuring consistency, boundaries and therapeutic structure during placements
• Supporting staff to work confidently with change and transition
• Maintaining strong governance, quality assurance and regulatory compliance
• Working closely with senior leaders, commissioners and other homes to support onward moves

About You:
Experience & Qualifications:
• Experienced Registered Manager, or a confident Deputy ready for a supported step up
• Strong understanding of assessment, quality oversight and regulatory standards
• Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care (essential)
• Level 5 in Children's Leadership & Management

• Confident overseeing short-term placements and frequent transitions
• Clear decision-maker with strong professional judgement
